Stimulating the US Economy by having a Green War

The Problems

Housing construction is down
Many can’t pay their mortgages
Personal income that could be spent at retail is going towards higher gasoline prices
Banks need US dollars circulating through them instead of going overseas
People need long-term savings on their household expenses
Food prices have increased due to corn and soy being used to make ethanol
Greenhouse gases that we produce are will cost use huge sums to fix

The Solution – Severely reduce the importation of foreign oil

Method – a Real Economic Stimulus Plan devoted to reducing foreign oil consumption

Steps

The economic stimulus checks Congress is working on must have a stipulation. They must be spent on “retail purchases to reduce your personal energy consumption”. If this is not specified, the vast majority of the money will be spent on Chinese consumer products, which will yield no long-term benefit to our economy.

Parts of the Economy that would be stimulated

Construction – through the retrofitting of houses for energy efficiency
Retail – most of the items will be purchased through retailers, from auto parts, light bulbs, new tires to insulation
Service industry – automotive tune-ups, heating and air-conditioning routine maintenance
Manufacturing – new high efficiency cars, appliances and building materials

Why is this so important now?

Reducing the amount of foreign oil we use, now and for the long term, will stop the money from going directly out of our economy. This plan would cause much of the money to be spent immediately on American Products and American Labor, while at the same time reduce the monthly household expenses of American who regularly use the savings to buy other consumer goods.

Examples of allowed purchases

Buying a new high efficiency vehicle
Adding insulation, solar hot water heating and high efficiency windows to homes
Having a tune up on your car
Buying new high efficiency tires for your car
Replacing older appliances with Energy Star compliant models
Replacing older computers with Energy Star compliant models
Buying anything else as long as it Energy Star complaint
Cleaning or replacing your air conditioning or heating system
Adding some solar panels to your house
Getting an oil change with a synthetic oil

Remember the idea is to lower the amount of your income that goes to foreign countries and to allow you to have more to spend every month
